03 Good to know
The small print, up front.
- Formats
- Absorb opens EPUB, PDF, MOBI, AZW3 and CBZ. CBR comics download fine but need another reader.
- Manga
- For right-to-left reading, use the web reader. Absorb's comic reader goes left to right.
- Listening profiles
- Add extra audiobook listeners in your account, each with their own progress.
- Kindle and Kobo
- Delivery works for compatible ebooks, not comics, manga or audiobooks.
- Reading progress
- In an OPDS app, progress stays in that app. Absorb and the web reader keep their own.

Do I need a streaming plan to get Books?
No. Paragon Books is a plan on its own. It's also included in the Ultimate bundle with Paragon TV and Streaming Premium.
Is there a free trial?
No, Paragon Books doesn't have a trial. The monthly plan is the cheapest way to try it: $7, and you can cancel future renewals from your account.
Which file formats does Absorb open?
EPUB, PDF, MOBI, AZW3 and CBZ. CBR comics can be downloaded but need another reader app. Let a book or comic finish downloading before you open it.
Can I listen offline?
Yes, in apps that offer it. Absorb can download audiobooks to your phone so you can listen without a connection.
Can someone else in my home listen too?
Yes. You can add listening profiles in your account, each with its own login and progress. Extra profiles are for audiobooks only; ebooks, comics, manga and OPDS use your main login.
Can I send comics or audiobooks to my Kindle?
No. Kindle and Kobo delivery is for compatible ebooks only. Read comics and manga in Absorb, the web reader or an OPDS app.
Do ebooks and audiobooks sync with each other?
Not automatically. An ebook and its audiobook are separate items in the library, so read-along isn't promised.
Something won't open. Who do I ask?
Open a support ticket from your account with the title and the app you're using. We reply usually within 12 hours.
