What counts as a connection
A connection (called a stream on movies and series plans) is one device actively playing. Installing an app or being signed in doesn't count; playing does.
- Watching on your TV uses 1
- Watching on your TV and your phone at the same time uses 2
- Live TV and movies and series are counted separately: a TV channel uses a TV connection, a movie uses a stream
- A paused video may keep its session open, so press stop and close the app to free the screen
Limits by plan
These are the limits you can choose on each plan. Your own limit is the one you bought, shown on your service page in the client area.
| Plan | At the same time | Free trial |
|---|---|---|
| Paragon TVLive TV | 1 to 5 connections | 24 hours, 1 connection |
| Streaming LiteEmby or Jellyfin | 3 or 5 streams | 24 hours, Emby or Jellyfin |
| Streaming PremiumEmby or P Share | 3 or 5 streams | 24 hours on Emby, 3 streams |
| Paragon BooksEbooks, audiobooks, comics | Main + up to 4 audiobook listeners | None |
| BundlesLite + TV, Ultimate | 1 to 5 TV connections, plus the streams of the included plan | Try TV and streaming separately |
If you go over your limit
If you try to play on more devices than your plan allows:
- The new stream or channel may not start
- You may see a message about too many connections or streams
- You'll need to stop playback on another device first
The extra device has to wait until another one stops.
Keeping connections free
- Stop, don't just pause: press stop and fully close the app, rather than leaving it in the background
- Check other rooms: a TV left on a channel still uses a connection
- Sign out of old devices: if you sell or stop using a device, sign out of the app first
Need more?
The upgrades available for your plan, such as more streams, are shown in your client area. TV connections can be added at any time; your login and renewal date stay the same. If the change you need isn't listed, open a ticket.
